About Non Verbal Test 01

Non-verbal reasoning checks how well you handle shapes, patterns and spatial ideas without relying on language. Non Verbal Test 01 has 25 multiple-choice questions in 10 minutes. Because this page cannot show pictures inside the test, each question describes the shapes in words so it works on every phone.

Real papers use drawings, so treat this as a warm-up for the same thinking skills.

Skills you will practise

  • Shape and pattern series
  • Rotation and mirror images
  • Counting squares and triangles in a figure
  • Faces, edges and corners of a cube
  • Dice and paper folding
  • Clock angles

Quick facts worth knowing

A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 corners. Opposite faces of a standard dice add up to 7. A paper folded twice has four layers, so one hole punched through all of them makes four holes when it is opened. Small facts like these save valuable time in the exam hall.

How to improve

Practise by sketching. Draw the pattern, rotate it on paper and compare it with the options. When counting shapes, go in order: count the small ones first, then the larger ones made from several parts. Counting in a fixed order prevents double counting, which is the most common error in this section.

Train your eye daily

Spatial skill grows slowly, so a few minutes every day work better than one long session. Look at tiles, clocks and folded paper around you and ask how they would look if turned or mirrored.

A five-minute drill

Draw a square, a triangle and a circle on paper. Rotate each shape by 90 degrees, then reflect it in an imaginary mirror and sketch the result. Repeat with more complex shapes, such as an arrow or the letter F, and compare your drawings with the originals. This simple drill trains the mental rotation that real non-verbal papers ask for.

Next, practise counting. Draw a 4 by 4 grid and count every square of every size. The answer is 30, and finding it on your own shows how a systematic method beats guessing. Check each result against the options and note any pattern you missed.
