How to solve each type of verbal intelligence question

Analogies

Find the exact relationship in the first pair, such as tool and action, worker and place, or young and adult. Put it into a short sentence, then apply the same relationship to the second pair before you look at the options.

Number series

Check the difference between neighbouring numbers first. If the differences are not constant, test multiplication, squares, cubes, or differences that grow by one at each step.

Letter series and coding

Convert letters into numbers, where A is 1 and Z is 26. Most letter series add or subtract a fixed step, and most simple codes move every letter by the same amount.

Blood relations and ranking

Draw a quick family tree, or write the names in a line from tallest to shortest. A small sketch takes a few seconds and prevents most mistakes.

Direction sense

Mark the starting point, draw an arrow for the first direction, and turn it step by step. A right turn is clockwise and a left turn is anticlockwise.

Synonyms, antonyms and grammar

Learn words in pairs, such as rapid and fast, or generous and selfish. For grammar, read the sentence aloud in your head and choose the option that sounds natural.

A simple practice plan

  1. Attempt 20 to 25 MCQs a day, starting with your weakest topic.
  2. Check every answer and read the reason, even when you were right.
  3. Write each mistake in a small notebook and revise it before the next session.
  4. End the week with a timed attempt such as Verbal Test 01.

Frequently asked questions

What are verbal intelligence MCQs?

They are multiple-choice questions that test reasoning with words, letters, numbers and relationships. Common types are analogies, series, coding, odd one out and blood relations.

Are these MCQs useful for Army, Navy and PAF tests?

Initial tests for the armed forces commonly include a verbal intelligence section with these question types, so regular practice builds speed and accuracy. This is a practice set and not an official paper.

How many MCQs should I solve each day?

Solving 20 to 25 questions a day with careful review works better than rushing through 100 in one sitting. At that pace, the full set takes about eight to ten days.

Does every question have an answer and explanation?

Yes. Tap View answer under any question to see the correct option and the reason. The Show all answers button opens every answer at once.

How can I improve my speed?

Learn the common patterns, such as doubling, squares and fixed letter steps, then practise with a timer. Aim for about 30 seconds per question.
