How to solve each type of English question
Tenses and verbs
Look for time words first. Words like yesterday and last year point to the simple past, since and for point to the present perfect, and tomorrow points to the future. Then check that the verb agrees with its subject.
Synonyms and antonyms
Learn words in pairs, such as brave and courageous, or generous and selfish. Read every option before you choose, because a synonym question often hides an antonym among the choices.
Prepositions
Prepositions follow fixed patterns, such as good at, interested in, afraid of and depend on. Keep a short list of these pairs and revise it often.
Articles and spelling
Choose a or an by the sound of the next word, not its first letter. For spelling, break long words into parts, such as ac-com-mo-da-tion, and notice the double letters.
Voice and speech
For the passive voice, move the object to the front and use the correct form of be plus the past participle. For reported speech, shift the tense one step back after a past reporting verb.
Agreement, question tags and idioms
A positive statement takes a negative tag and a negative statement takes a positive one. Words like each, news and mathematics take a singular verb. Learn idioms with their meanings and use them in your own sentences.

Frequently asked questions
What are English MCQs for Army, Navy and PAF initial tests?
They are multiple-choice questions on grammar, vocabulary and usage, such as tenses, synonyms, antonyms, prepositions, articles, spelling, voice and speech. The English section of an initial test checks how accurately you use everyday English.
Are these English MCQs useful for Pak Army, Pak Navy and PAF preparation?
Yes. Initial tests for the armed forces commonly include English along with verbal and non-verbal intelligence, so regular practice builds speed and accuracy. This is a practice set and not an official paper.
How many English MCQs should I solve each day?
Solving 20 to 25 questions a day with careful review works better than rushing through all 100 in one sitting. At that pace, the full set takes about four to five days.
Does every question have an answer and explanation?
Yes. Tap View answer under any question to see the correct option and the reason. The Show all answers button opens every answer at once.
How can I improve my English for the initial test?
Learn one grammar rule at a time, read short English passages daily, learn new words in pairs of synonyms and antonyms, and revise your mistakes in a notebook before each practice session.
