About Mathematics Test 02

Mathematics Test 02 is the second timed practice set in our Mathematics series for Pak Army, Navy and Pak Air Force initial tests. It has 25 multiple-choice questions to solve in 10 minutes, which is about 24 seconds per question, so you need to spot shortcuts instead of writing every step.

The questions cover the most repeated topics in armed forces maths papers: order of operations, percentages, discount, fractions, algebra, ratio and unitary method, geometry, probability and number series. Keep a rough sheet beside you, and read the explanations at the end to compare your method with a faster one. If you have not tried the first set yet, start with Mathematics Test 01.

Topics inside this test

The paper mixes arithmetic, algebra and geometry so that no single skill carries you through. Expect questions on:

  • Order of operations, powers, cubes and square roots
  • Percentages, discount and percentage increase
  • Fractions, ratio and the unitary method
  • Simple equations and number series
  • Median, probability and greatest common factor
  • Circle, triangle and rectangle geometry, and unit conversion

Quick formulas from this test

  • Percentage = (part ÷ whole) × 100, and percentage increase = (increase ÷ original) × 100.
  • Sale price = price − discount, where discount = price × rate ÷ 100.
  • The angles of a triangle add up to 180°, and the perimeter of a rectangle is 2 × (length + width).
  • Diameter = 2 × radius, and probability = favourable outcomes ÷ total outcomes.
  • In a sum with × and ÷ together, work from left to right.

A smart way to practise

Start with the questions you find easy and bank those marks first, then come back to slower calculations. When a question involves percentages, convert it to a fraction, since 25 percent is one quarter and 50 percent is one half, and the arithmetic becomes much shorter.

After the test, redo every wrong question on paper without looking at the explanation. If your answer differs from the one shown, find the exact step where your working went off track. That habit teaches more than simply reading solutions.

Avoid careless errors

Most lost marks in mathematics come from small slips, not from missing knowledge. Follow the order of operations, check signs carefully, and make sure you answer the exact question asked, such as the width rather than the perimeter.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mathematics Test 02 useful for Pak Army, Navy and PAF initial tests?
