About Verbal Test 03
Verbal Test 03 is a free practice paper with 25 verbal intelligence MCQs for candidates preparing for the Pak Army, Pak Navy and Pak Air Force (PAF) initial tests. You get 10 minutes to finish it. When you submit, the test shows your score, the correct answer for every question you missed, and a short reason behind each answer.
The paper mixes the question types that come up most often: analogies, odd one out, number and letter series, coding-decoding, synonyms and antonyms, family relations, and direction and day questions. If you are new to this style of paper, solve Verbal Test 01 and Verbal Test 02 first and then come back to this one.

How to solve the questions in this test
Number series
Start by subtracting each number from the next one. In this paper, 6, 11, 16, 21 rises by the same step every time, while 2, 6, 12, 20, 30 does not. When the gap changes, write the gaps under the numbers: 4, 6, 8, 10. The gaps themselves grow by 2, so the next gap is 12 and the answer is 42.
Letter series
Turn the letters into numbers if the pattern is not clear at a glance. For Z, W, T, Q, N, the numbers are 26, 23, 20, 17, 14, so the series goes back by three each time and the next letter is K. Moving backward is where most candidates slip, so go slowly there.
Analogies
Say the link between the first pair as a short sentence, such as "a glove covers the hand". Then try the same sentence on the second pair. If two options both seem to fit, ask which one follows the first pair more closely.
Coding-decoding
Check the first and last letter of the example before you do anything else. If C becomes D and T becomes U, the rule is plus one, and you can apply it to the new word letter by letter.
Directions and days
Keep the order North, East, South, West in your head. A right turn moves you one step forward in that order, and a left turn moves you one step back. So facing west and turning right gives north. For day questions, first work out what today is, and only then count to the day you need.
Synonyms, antonyms and odd one out
Read the instruction line twice, because the options of a synonym question and an antonym question often look alike. For odd one out, look for the one word that belongs to a different group, such as a mammal among birds, a day among months, or a unit of mass among units of length.
Using your 10 minutes well
Ten minutes for 25 questions leaves roughly 24 seconds per question. The series and coding questions take longer than the synonym questions, so finish the quick ones first and keep the saved time for the harder ones. If you get stuck, pick your best guess, move on, and return at the end if time remains.
How to prepare for the Pak Army, Navy and PAF verbal test
The question styles repeat from paper to paper, so practice works better than reading theory. Take the test once without help, then go through every wrong answer and write down the rule you missed. A week later, retake it and compare the two scores. When you are ready for more, move on to Verbal Test 04.
Try to understand why each wrong option is wrong, and not only why the right one is right. Over a few papers you will start spotting the usual traps, such as an option that looks close to the answer but is off by one step.
